Fair Trade Marketing Intern for the Center for Amazon Community Ecology

THE CENTER FOR AMAZON COMMUNITY ECOLOGY

and the FAIR-TRADE MARKETING INTERNSHIP

The Center for Amazon Community Ecology is a non-profit organization that promotes the understanding, conservation and development of human and other biological communities in the Amazon region.  We help people from traditional communities create value-added non-timber forest products to improve their livelihood without damaging the forest.

CACE now works with artisans in 16 native and campesino communities in the northern Peruvian Amazon to make and market innovative fair-trade handicrafts.  We also cooperate with the non-profit group Camino Verde to plant thousands of rosewood trees with native partners to produce a premium aromatic essential oil and rebuild the population of this endangered species.

We help our partners market their crafts at through our online Amazon Forest Store, fair-trade shops and special events. CACE reinvests 20% of our net sales to support health, education and conservation needs in our partner communities.
